Maine SAFE has helped numerous Spanish-speaking individuals arrange appointments with dentists, doctors, attorneys; facilitated the purchase of homes and opening of bank accounts; filled up empty tanks with gas; contacted Consulates on behalf of their citizens in need of help; interpreted at hospital emergency rooms; donated books in Spanish to correctional facilities. Most recently, we arranged and paid for driving lessons for a lady who received her license second time around and is enjoying a new freedom. Also, we found legal representation for a young man going through divorce.
